NEW YEAR'S EVE in Newton Abbot! It's time to celebrate – and whatever your style, you're sure to find the perfect venue! Here's selection of some of the best – do make sure to check with the venue before you go, though, as popular events can sell out fast!
Newton Abbot celebrates New Year!
If you're a pub person, your'e in for a night to remember as many of the town's hostelries are hosting New Year's Eve parties. The Jolly Abbot in East Street has live music from SliDer, while at the Jolly Farmer in Market Street you can enjoy covers and original material from guitar/sax duo Go Tell Alice. In Kingsteignton, Matthew Finnish – a veteran combining the likes of The Eagles with his own material – is appearing at the Royal British Legion from 9.00pm onward, while those who long to dance the night away can catch the New Year's Eve disco at The Ten Tors Inn.
Fans of folk music should head to Kingskerswell for Black Bess Border Morris Dancers' annual charity Ceilidh in aid of Rowcroft Hospice at Home, which promises a a fun filled evening for all the family, with rainbow themed fancy dress, dancing to Swains Gold and a fully licenced Bar.
Or perhaps you fancy a touch of glamour? Then head for A Night at the Oscars at Orestone Manor in Maidencombe – dress in movie star style or go as your favourite film character. Be snapped on the red carpet by the paparazzi, sip cocktails and nibble canapes in Hollywood style before enjoying dinner, dancing and fireworks! Over at Totnes, you can enjoy the New Year's Eve Gala Ball at Dartington Hall – spend the evening in the luxury and comfprt of the beautiful Great Hall and indulge in a 5-course gala meal followed by champagne at midnight and dancing until dawn.
For the ultimate in luxury or a treat for that special someone, how about celebrating New Year's Eve at Bovey Castle? The renowned venue is hosting a party to remember, with a champagne reception followed by a gourmet four-course dinner, dancing and fireworks.
