A 71-year-old sex offender has died in prison, one year into a seven-year sentence.
Peter Grimes died in hospital on Friday, after he collapsed at Channings Wood Prison, Newton Abbot, on January 8.
He suffered from pneumonia, heart failure and coronary heart disease.
Grimes was convicted at Bristol Crown Court of sexual assault on a girl under the age of 13, as well as attempted sexual assault on a child and causing a minor to engage in sexual activity.
At the trial he was described as a "very frail and rather pathetic figure".
An inquest into his death had been opened and adjourned.
