What should we call 'Golden Lion Square' in the centre of Newton Abbot?

What should the Newton Abbot open space be called in the future? What should it look like? And what should be included?  

These are questions that the Newton Abbot Community Interest Company (CIC) wants to answer after acquiring Golden Lion Square in the centre of Newton Abbot following collaboration with Teignbridge District Council, Newton Abbot Town Council and the support of several local people.

A public consultation is starting on Saturday 25 June to ask for views on what the community wants from this open space.

The consultation runs until 31 August 2011 and people can pick up a survey form from Newton Abbot Town Hall, local libraries, Teignbridge District Council reception and various businesses in the town.

Newton Abbot CIC is a not-for-profit organisation that was set up to deliver the Newton Abbot & District Community Plan and one of the aims of local people is to have more public open space in the area.
