It's been

confirmed that following two years of preparation and detailed negotiation with

various authorities, Kingsteignton clay firm Sibelco has been granted consent

to realign a major public road, the B3193 Chudleigh Road, through their Preston

Manor operations at Kingsteignton.

The

decision by Devon County Council also included extensive rights (in excess of

25 years) relating to tipping waste from their quarrying and processing

activities.

News was

broken to employees last week.

Sibelco's

UK Resources Director Gary Stringer said: "This

is a significant achievement and a defining point in the medium to long term

development of our ball clay operations in South Devon. "Impressively,

consent was also achieved with very few objections from our local community and

our immediate neighbours."
