Late night Christmas shopping child drop-off service at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre

Late night Christmas shopping starts in Newton Abbot tonight and also an evening scheme for children that runs from 6pm-9pm on late-night shopping days at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre.

For just £5 per child it offers all kinds of activities including swimming, Christmas cooking, Christmas arts and crafts and other various sports for youngsters aged up to 16.

A council spokesman said: "The centre's fully qualified childcare team offer safe, supervised fun, helping parents, carers and grandparents do their shopping in town without worrying about babysitters or bringing the children along.

There's no need to book for the evenings, parents can just drop their children off any time from 6pm and collect them by 9pm."

The new scheme runs from 6pm-9pm on late-night shopping days, with remaining dates on Wednesday 7, Thursday 15 and Wednesday 21 December.
