Sounds good but I’m not quite sure it’s really needed in Newton. There’s only one club and only a few ‘going out’ pubs about the town centre.

More news...after a presentation to the local Authorities (County Council, the District Council and the Devon and Cornwall Police) in the Avenue Church, the new proposed Newton Abbot Street Pastors was granted a licence from Ascension Trust... Ascension Trust oversees all the Street Pastors initiatives UK and is supported by the Home Office.
We are now in the process of setting up bank accounts, insurances, training programs, general administration and all those other bits and pieces needed to start up. Hopefully there will a launch date in the summer and after members have completed their essential training, we hope to be sending teams out in Newton Abbot shortly after.
This is a purely voluntary initiative and will rely on contributions and donations, so we will be looking in the future for support in this area if this scheme is to be maintained.
Keep watching this space.
