I agree with Nizletrout. Just can't understand why its taken so many years. Should have been built in the 70's when the bridge over the Teign was built.

Against it too. I live in Kingskerswell so I know how frustrating the Torquay Road can be but I wouldn't want to see development through all the fields.

Pretty daft question really - how on earth could anyone be against it. Torbay desperately needs it for a decent foundation for new businesses to come into the area, thereby creating new jobs! This question has been discussed and re-discussed since 1936!! For heavens sake why dont they just GET ON WITH IT!!!!!!!!
If you had ever lived in London you would know what traffic was. From the Penn Inn roundabout to Torquay to build a By pass is costing Millions of pounds and will ruin parts of the countryside. I'm all for progress but there is an alternative at a fraction of the price by altering the the road accesses and bridge walkways. The bypass will take 20 meters of my front garden, I live on the Newton Road so I do know what the traffic is like I have lived with it for 6 years and honestly it is not that bad.
