Unfortunate thing about Lidl is that everything they sell at good-value prices seems to be a day or two before expiration, despite the expiration date printed. I get a broccoli at Lidl that turns yellow within two days, whereas one from Sainsbury's will last me for over a week. Likewise with meats - they're all gray on the inside.
Oh, the price we pay for low cost products... not high at all... which might be the problem. Blah, forget the future exotic sports cars and mansions, I'm getting myself a nice little patch of land with a farm. And some hippies in the backyard.
I love Lidl, and find the fruit and veg really good. Don't know which branch you go to Fizzwizz... Anyway what I save at Lidl means I can afford an organic vegie box for my broccoli. Peaches are much better than at Tesco - they usually don't go all brown inside, especially if you buy the more expensive ones, and great tomatoes. Can't wait for Lidl to open as I now make a special journey to Torquay every week just to buy the yummy continental sausage and hams. I love the tables of sundry stuff which changes all the time - always worth a browse.
I'm following the progress of this new store with great interest, and it amazes me how quickly buildings go up these days.

Lidl nearly open now 5 Nov I'm told. Veg is usually excellent, better than Tesco by far I go to Alphington Lidl monthly and will appreciate not having to drive there anymore. The competition might make Tesco smarten up their shoddy act and their prices at both the superstore and the Metro next door.

If Lidl knocks the Tesco Express for six will it take over the post office?
