    hi, im hopeing to relocate from lancs to hathfeild in newton abbot to be closer to my familly. can anybody tell me please what is in the heathfeild area.  i have a 2year old, and i dont drive. what are the schools like, any sure starts centers/crech and how much wld a return bus tiket cost to newton abbot.  thanks guys i have searched the internet but not getting much info. :(  sam

    St Catherine's Primary is a greatly improving school (according to Ofstead reports) and I think they have a special centre for under 5's. Not sure about buses though

    I'd aim for somewhere closere to Newton itself. Bovey T. is a nice place to live if you have transport but Heathfield is a long way out from the town and is short on most things for a young family with no car. There's lots of schools for all ages in Newton A.  itself, the public transport is pretty good (you can get to Exeter, Torquay, and the seaside easily), and there's many more shops.

    Heathfield did have a bus that ran every hour or so into NA but why not go to NA itself? Heathfield is a fair trek to and from NA and I'm guessing it would be difficult, though not impossible, without a car.
