Norman Watt-Roy, one of Britain's best-loved bass players, is best known today for his work with The Blockheads and Wilko Johnson. Over his long career, however, he has worked with the Clash, Madness, Nick Lowe, The Selecter, Rodger Daltrey, and provided the original bass line for Frankie Goes to Hollywood's smash hit 'Relax'. He now hits the road leading an all-star line-up including fellow Blockhead and hugely respected sax player, Gilad Atzmon, keyboard virtuoso, Frank Harrison and the astounding jazz-rock drum supremo, Asaf Sirkis. His current live set promises to range from Blockheads-style funk to rock, virtuoso jazz fusion, bebop, pop, R&B and dance. Songs include Norman's unique take on classics like Ian Dury's 'Billericay Dickie' and Wilko Johnson's 'Roxette' to a beautifully moving bass solo version of the jazz standard 'My Foolish Heart' Anyone who has witnessed Norman working up a sweat with Wilko or the Blockheads will relish the chance to see him doing his own thing with these fantastic musicians, a summation of his previous work and a venture into exciting new sounds.
Jay Tamkin isn't your average guitarist or singer/songwriter.
Aside regular session work and playing with some of Jazz, Rock and Blues' top names around, Jay Tamkin also performs a unique solo act which incorporates and combines innovative ideas with well written songs that has been described as "a one man 10 piece orchestra"
