We’ve started a list of events/activities designed to keep the above phrase to a minimum.

- Newton Abbot Leisure Centre hosts a variety of school holiday activities. There are opportunities in sports, outdoor pursuits, countryside events and much more, aimed at children and young people aged 3-16yrs. From coasteering to body boarding, beach art to street dance. See: Summer holidays
- Free guided cycle rides in and around Newton Abbot (bike hire also available). These take place on various dates throughout the summer starting at Decoy Park. See: Cycle rides
- Art and Drama Summer Camp 2010. Art, acting, singing, creating it’s all going on! From 9-13 August at St Paul’s Church Hall, Devon Square. 10am till 1pm / £55 for the week per child. Telephone: 07886 347998 - Email: mail@createworkshops.co.uk
- Kingsteignton Swimming Pool. The facility offers a heated 25m pool, toddler pool, changing and shower facilities and a refreshment stand. See swimming

Fun4Kids Holiday Club will be running at Highweek Community Primary School every day of the summer holidays except the Bank Holiday Monday. The cost per child per day is £12.50 /£9.50 half day. For further details contact Carole Rogers on 07968891535
