Bonfire Night and firework events 2010 in and around Newton Abbot

Bonfire Night falls on the weekend this year… so no excuse then for not supporting the variety of firework events in the Newton Abbot area on Friday and Saturday.

If you live close to Abbotskerswell then there is a bonfire and firework display put on by the school's PTA at the village play park that should to be pretty spectacular.

The gates will open at 5pm on Friday, November 5, the bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the fireworks are due to start at 7pm. The charge is £4 for adults and £2 for children.

Kingsteignton Athletic FC also promise a grand firework display. Their event kicks off at 7.30 at Broadway Road.

River Dart Country Park is also holding a firework extravaganza on Friday. As well as bonfire and illuminations there is music, stalls and a hog roast! Entry starts at 4pm and tickets cost is £4 per person upon entry.

If you can’t make the Friday then the following day there is a fireworks display and bonfire in Moretonhampstead.

The King George V Community Centre is the meeting point with a bonfire to be lit at about 7pm. Fireworks will follow shortly after. There will also be a licensed bar, mulled wine, burgers and hot soup! The cost is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

NOTE: Many people have asked whether Newton Abbot Racecourse is having a firework display (having previously been a mainstay for locals on November 5). Sadly there will be no such event this year.
