A day of free entertainment on Wednesday, August 4 from 12pm to 4pm will take place at Courtenay Park.

Activities will include face painting, water play, den building, dressing up, juggling workshops and bouncy castles.

It’s all part of the national Playday event, which takes place at the beginning of August each year.

Organisers are hoping that the event will continue the success of last year’s event in the park, which saw over 1000 local children turn out with their parents for the free family fun.

Parents are welcome to get involved, or can simply observe it all as they sit and chat with friends. Picnics are welcome, and refreshments will also be available to purchase from local firm Lemon Jelli.
