“U Can Cut It’ – which offers a range of free performances and activities run by the council – will be at Newton Abbot on Friday.
The event, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, will treat residents and visitors to free performances, workshops and activities from some of the country’s top street performers. From giant seagulls to junkyard bands, Mad Science workshops to Compost Crusaders.
Among the acts performing are:
‘Bang On’ Junk Band – Bang On produce incredible sounds on a multi-coloured array of industrial waste including gas pipes, kitchen sinks and plastic barrels.
Giant Seagulls – The infamous Giant Seagulls are poised to swoop in with their anarchic brand of fun. These oversized gulls always cause a stir with their antics, raising awareness of the issues around feeding seagulls.
TYKES Show – The junior section of the Teignmouth Players perform a special show with an environmental message.
Uncle Tacko and Boy Gacko plus the Poppets – Traditional tales are told by storytellers in and around their lavishly decorated booth, which is full of surprises. Their shows include magic, puppetry, music and audience participation.
Mad Science workshops – Hands-on workshops for younger visitors, Mad Science presents a range of topics in fun, interactive and lively sessions.
Also taking part are Big Rory & Ochie the Dog, Dance Devon, Sparky the Robot, Compost Crusaders and more. There will also be various craft workshops and interactive activities on offer.
