A colourful panel about the lives of butterflies is being unveiled this week at Orley Comon near Ipplepen.

The panel, which features the many colourful sp4ecies to be found on this special limestone holltop site, is felt to bhe a fitting tribute to expert naturalist Maurice Edmonds, whose quiet enthusiasm furthered knowledge and understanding of butterflies and other wildlife at this and other sites over many years.

Teigntbridge District Council Ranger Leo Henley Lock explained the production of the panelm which he had helped to design, had been funded by members of Kingskerswell Natural History Society, of which Maurice was a long standing member, together with donations of other friends.
