Please knock down the Newton Abbot multi-story carpark!

On the whole Newton Abbot’s town centre – in my opinion – is

very good.

Few towns of similar size can match its atmosphere, vibrancy

and historical feel…

However much of this is ruined by it’s dreadful multi-story

car park and surrounding bus stop area.

Ugly is not a strong enough word. It seems to cast a gloomy

shadow over much of the town centre. Come on, we’re not living in Slough or

Milton Keynes.

I know times are hard but the council, MP or someone,

PLEASE CAN THIS BE KNOCKED DOWN.

Although we might need a multi-story car park do we really need one with God-awful yellow railings on the exterior! Did some smart council worker actually think that this was a good colour scheme??

i completly agree! I don't yet live in newton abbot but me and my parents are moving next augest (2011).

we go down all the time and there is no doubting.. the town centre is a lovely place.. just shadowed by a blooming multi story car park!

there is no doubt that if it did go.. you would need something else. but this is the 21st century.. and its NEWTON ABBOT!! :) we can get much better then that! saying that.. in poole, dorset.. they had a multi story with the same problem.. very ugly.. they wanted to blow it up but it would cost to much.. so the council re-designed the whole thing.. looks soo much better now! coloured pannels with not an inch of concrete in sight.. its really atchualy almost eligent!

how about an underground carpark to replace it and then use the space for .... suggestions?

agree?? where's the fun in that ;) I say paint the carpark bright pink and it'd cheer everyone up
