News from the police newsroom…

Police officers were called to the A38 near Ashburton (to the area by the Linhay junction) after reports of a man on the edge of the overbridge.

The man is thought to have fallen from the bridge and suffered leg and pelvic injuries.

The incident took place just before 5pm on the Plymouth bound carriageway, which is currently blocked.

The air ambulance is in attendance and the Exeter bound carriageway is closed while the helicopter lands.

At this early stage it appears a minor vehicle collision occurred between two vehicles travelling on the Exeter bound carriageway shortly after the initial incident.
