TEIGNMOUTH Carnival’s magnificent local music line-up will have the Den rocking tomorrow.
From midday onwards you can see and hear the following bands:
Shot Down — a young and enthusiastic local outfit made up of vocalist Leila Jones, guitarist Mark Godden, drummer Jimmy Morris and bassist Ruby Morris. They mix originals with covers and cite influences from Deep Purple to Bloc Party.
The Iconyx — formed at South Devon College and ticking all the boxes for the light indie look and sound. They were among the support acts for the Quails at the Riviera Centre earlier this year.
Rude Tiger — formerly the Morris Brothers Band, they blend popular modern rock with soaring guitar melodies and have built a solid reputation with scores of local gigs and several CD releases.
Sundog
Atrio — a three-piece alternative rock band from Teignmouth, inspired by a huge range of music and styles. They are currently working on an EP of their own songs.
Chasing Hollywood — hugely promising teenage Kingsteignton pop/punk band who recently recorded a three-track EP in London.
Back to Coda — formerly known as Dirty Blues, the band present an energetic set mostly made up of originals with some well-chosen covers thrown in.
Bad Mojo — formed in summer 2007 and boasting a wide range of musical influences, they promise a foot-stamping set.
Dolcet Tones — formed in Torbay late in 2008, they promise songs that pay attention to melody and atmosphere, stretched loud and live for a festival audience.
The Quails — fresh from supporting Will Young at Newton Abbot last week, local heroes the Quails will conjure up a headline set featuring songs from their album ‘Master of Imperfection’, including new single ‘Fever’.
