-
The big day will soon be here.
The date for the forthcoming General Election has been announced:
Thursday, May 6, 2010.
For the next four weeks Richard Younger-Ross (Lib Dem); Anne
Marie-Morris (Tory); Patrick Canavan (Labour); Corrine Lindsey (Green) and
Jackie Hooper (UKIP) will be fighting tooth and nail for your vote to win the
new Newton Abbot constituency
The seat is listed as Conservative target number 80 – with the
Liberal Democrat’s holding a majority of just over ten per cent from the 2005 election.
Suffice to say it will be keenly contested.
The electoral wards in Newton Abbot include; Bishopsteignton,
Kingskerswell, Newton Abbot, Dawlish, Ipplepen, Kingsteignton, Shaldon,
Stokeinteignhead and Teignmouth.
Teignbridge Council will maintain responsibility for the seat. The
election count on the night is expected to be held at Newton Abbot Leisure
Centre, in Highweek.
