It has been reported on the web that Jermaine Atiya-alla has quit from the role of Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Newton Abbot – via Facebook.

“I resign” was posted on his Facebook page yesterday evening (Thursday, February 11).

A report on the People’s Republic of South Devon website (Candidate Resigns) said:

“Up until January 15, Jermaine seemed to be in full swing of pre-election preparations. His Facebook page said: “Can’t wait to get back on the campaign trial next week in Newton Abbot subject to snow of course!” But by February 1, the tone had changed to “Shall I stay or go”.

The selection process for the seat is now set to begin as the General Election draws near.

Ladbrokes recently posted their election odds for the Newton Abbot seat – making Liberal Democrats the favourites at 4/6.

Odds for Newton Abbot:

Liberal Democrats 4/6

Conservatives 11/10

Labour 100/1

UKIP 100/1
