Registrations are now being accepted for a Sainsbury's Sports Relief Mile at Decoy Country Park on Sunday, March 21.

The event enables people to walk, jog or run for either one, three or six miles to raise money for Sport Relief, the sporting arm of Comic Relief.

It all takes place at 9:30am with events starting from 10:30am. To take part costs £5 for anyone aged 16 or over, and £2 for under 16s.

A family discount is available for two adults and two children taking part together, and costs just £12. These fees cover the cost of staging the Mile event, and participants are encouraged to get sponsorship from friends and families to raise money for Sport Relief.

As well as raising money for charity with the Mile, the day will be the perfect chance for a family day out.  There'll be taster sessions for sporting activities like dancing and cheerleading, usually run as leisure centre classes.

There'll also be a group warm-up session, with Newton Abbot Leisure Centre's Jo Boardman taking to the stage to put the crowd through their paces prior to the run.

Anyone who'd like to get involved in the Decoy Mile will need to register in advance to take part.  This can be completed online by searching for your local Mile from the Sport Relief homepage (www.sportrelief.com or visiting the Decoy page direct at www.sportrelief.com/the-mile/decoy-country-park-mile.

Anybody with queries can also call Nikki Taylor, Sports Development Officer, on 01626 215611.
