Figures show that last year the average price for a Newton Abbot property (detached, terrace, flats etc) was £136.398 - way down on the 2008 average of £186.816.

The figure of £136.398 is also significantly lower than the South West Regional average of £239,938.
Neighbouring Torquay had an average property price of £151.151 in 2009, Paignton £132,175.
The national average price of a property at the end of last year was £217, 710.
Breaking down Newton Abbot properties further – using findaproperty's house price tool – the average sold price of a detached home was £203.689. A flat was £97,841, a semi-detached property was £135,882 and a terraced house £108,180.
