The fate of the long debated Kingskerswell Bypass is to be decided in a public inquiry.

The inquiry is being held at the Passage House Hotel in Kingsteignton and is expected to last 12 days.

Supporters of the the multi-million pound Kingskerswell scheme say it will ease congestion and boost Torbay's economy.

Opponents claim a bypass could destroy the village and millions of pounds would be wasted.

What do you think? Do you support the plans?

What will happen to the smaller communities in the area? Yes it will ease congestion but will it not ease congestion to the point where no traffic uses the old route?

Definately a huge NIMBY case going on here, as quite literally the bypass will mean several houses will lose some of their back gardens. I believe many already have!

    Definitely a supporter Martin.
Torbay is like an island- virtually cut off most of the summer and at weekends.  Don't know what we would do without Shaldon bridge and the St Marychurch rat-run.
I'm always amazed that any businesses (apart from tourism) would want to start up in Torbay.  I wonder if anyone north of Kingskerswell is against it?
