Tory/Lib Dem Coalition: Good, bad or unsure?

Yesterday it
-
New PM, David Cameron.
was announced that the Conservative Party had formed an historic coalition with
the Liberal Democrats.
The new UK
Prime Minister is David Cameron – with Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg the new deputy
prime minister.
Mr Cameron said
it marked a “new era for Britain” before adding: “Now let’s get to work.”
Speaking to
several friends and family about the coalition – the first between the Tories
and Lib Dems at Westminster – the words “shocked”, “surprised” and “strange”
kept being mentioned.
How do Newton
Abbot people feel about this unprecedented situation? Would Lib Dem voters
rather have had their party do a deal with Labour?
One man who I spoke to in the pub last night
said that he felt cheated – as he voted for Lib Dem at the election and not a Lib
Dem/Conservative alliance…

ConLib? I don't really understand how it'll work at a local level. Are Miss Morris and Mr Younger-Ross now working together?

ReportWe moan when politicians argue, especially in parliament, now I suppose we'll all moan that two of the parties have decided to put that aside and agree with one another. Of course there will still be disputes but isn't it better that this isn't done in public?
