Woman suffers serious injuries after car crash in Newton Abbot

A 39-year-old local woman was taken to hospital with suspected spinal and lung injuries following a car collision on the A380, close to the Penn Inn roundabout, just after midnight (March 2).
Her black Vauxhall Tigra collided with a tree near to the over bridge on the Buckland side of the Newton Abbot-bound carriageway.
Trapped in her car – the woman was freed by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.
She was treated by ambulance crews before being taken to Torbay Hospital, where she remains this morning.
